Definitions

  • Recommender: A person who refers a potential new associate to Sanctuary and who is currently registered with Sanctuary, is currently working with Sanctuary, or has completed 350 hours or more with Sanctuary within the past 24 months.
  • Recommendee: A new associate who has not previously worked for Sanctuary.
  • Recommendation date: The date that the recommendation is received by Sanctuary.
  • Bonus payment: Payment in the form of AUD $250 - $500 for the Recommender, which will be paid as cash bonus to all Sanctuary payrolled candidates and via a gift card where we do not hold bank details (i.e. for permanently placed candidates).
  • Qualifying criteria: The criteria that must be met by the Recommender and Recommendee as set out below.
  • Compliant: This is subject to the recomendee’s position and can include right to work in Australia, proof of work experience, First Aid certificate, NDIS check, identity documents, COVID-19 vaccinations (3 doses), Bachelor of Nursing qualification, current flu vaccination, AHPRA registration, competency interview, and references.

Scheme

Effective 13th January 2026

Only registered nurses, assistant in nursing/personal care workers and managerial & leadership professionals looking to work in Australia on a temporary or permanent basis are eligible for recommendation. This scheme provides the opportunity for recommendations to be made and bonus payments earned by existing Sanctuary workers. 

Qualifying Criteria

  • The Recommender must have explicit consent from the Recommendee to provide their details to Sanctuary.
  • Recommendations must be made through the referral form on our website: https://www.sanctuaryrecruitment.com/refer-a-friend/. Recommendations will not be accepted through any other form.
  • The Sanctuary team will contact the Recommendee to verify their consent to be recommended, with the intention of securing them work engagements.
  • For a recommendation to qualify, the Recommendee must work in the profession(s) listed in this scheme.
  • For a recommendation to qualify, the Recommendee must pass the necessary checks to ensure they are compliant and eligible to work.
  • Worked hours: The recommendation bonus payment will be payable once the Recommendee has completed 100 hours of casual employment for registered nurses, 150 hours for assistants in nursing or 12 weeks of permanent employment for managerial and leadership positions. The required hours must be completed within 90 days of completing our onboarding process and being cleared to work.

Bonus Payments

The bonus payment is made to the Recommender once the Recommendee has met the relevant qualifying criteria, terms, conditions, and the Recommender has requested payment. Bonus payments may need to be declared on tax returns, please consult your tax agent for further advice. Bonus payments are non-transferable.

Claiming bonus: It is the responsibility of the Recommender to claim their bonus by contacting the Sanctuary team at referrals@sanctuaryrecruitment.com no later than three months after the Recommendee has completed the required working hours for their profession, in the given timeframe.

Payment method: Bonuses will be paid in cash to all Sanctuary-payrolled candidates, and via gift card to permanently placed candidates where bank details are not held. Cash payments are subject to tax deductions.

General Terms

  • Sanctuary Recruitment reserves the right to:
    • Reject a bonus payment request if:
    • the Recommendee has not consented to their personal data being submitted
    • the Recommendee has previously registered or worked with Sanctuary
    • the Recommender or Recommendee has not met the qualifying criteria, terms, and conditions
    • the Recommendee works for a division of Sanctuary that does not run a recommendation scheme
    • Sanctuary sees fits to do so, due to any other reason or circumstance that they deem as justified; or
    • if Recommenders are deemed internal personnel, employed by Sanctuary.
  • Sanctuary reserves the right to:
    • Vary the terms and conditions of this scheme at its absolute discretion or cancel/discontinue the scheme without prior notice.
