Learn moreRoles and responsibilities of a personal care worker
A PCW (personal care worker) is a caregiver who works alongside registered nurses,
enrolled nurses and management to provide care and treatment to residents.
A PCW who works in a residential aged care home would be expected
to carry out the following:
- Assist with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living)
- Help the registered and enrolled nurses with clinical care
- If medication competent, administer medications
- Complete meal rounds and assist residents with eating and drinking
- Providing emotional support to both residents and their families
- Monitor behaviours of their residents and notice any changes in character
Our PCWs work around the clock, filling shifts in the AM, PM and at night. We have
a fantastic community of caregivers within Sanctuary and we are always looking for
enthusiastic and dedicated professionals to come on board.
