Support Worker Jobs in Wollongong FAQs

A home care support worker is responsible for Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) for recipients requiring in home care. Support workers will visit persons within their own home, helping them carry out daily tasks so they can remain as independent as possible. 

As a home care support worker, you may be responsible for supporting people with a complex range of needs including physical and learning disabilities and mental health needs.

As a rule of thumb, you need a minimum of six-month Australia home care experience. Once you have reached this level, which equates to 910 hours, get in touch with our team for more information on our onboarding process.

To be a home care support worker, you would need a relevant qualification, such as a Certificate III in Individual Support. This will take around six months (full time) to complete and you will do 120 hours of work placement during this.

You can work on a temporary/casual basis as a home care support worker with Sanctuary.
