Enrolled nurse jobs in Sydney FAQs

A vital part of the healthcare industry, enrolled nurses are registered healthcare professionals who provide direct patient/resident care in medical settings. The scope of practice differs between enrolled and registered nurses, with registered nurses having an extra year of education and more clinical responsibility.

Our enrolled nursing positions are Australia wide, with homes available to choose from in metro, rural, regional and remote areas.

Reach out today if you are looking for a role in Sydney or across New South Wales in:

  • Central Coast
  • Newcastle
  • Hawkesbury
  • Illawarra
  • Western Sydney
  • Wollongong

As a casual enrolled nurse, you can expect to earn between $31 - $76 per hour. This pay bracket has lots of influential factors that are all set by the Aged Care and Nurses Award. For short term contract placements across the country, we offer bonuses, incentives and allowances depending on the placement.

The aged care industry is changing, and the aged care reform roadmap endeavors to make lifelong improvements to the sector, including a pay rise for the aged care sector.

You would need a minimum of 6 months to work with Sanctuary as a casual enrolled nurse. Get in touch if you are interested to work with our consultancy but you don't have this, as some of our clients accept newer grads.

Enrolled nurses are required to have completed a Diploma of Nursing. This is generally a two year course completed at an educational institution, made up of theory and practical exams.

You can work as an enrolled nurse on a temp/casual or contract basis. They are similar in the respect that they are not permanent commitments, however casual work can be picked up last minute, and contract roles are often away from home with travel and accommodation provided.

We have an online Learning Management System (LMS) that is a portal that gives our nurses access to modules that refresh their knowledge prior to starting work. This is regularly updated and is role specific, at no cost to you.

A snapshot of casual employee benefits are:

  • Structure your work day/week to your schedule
  • Through our contract roles, you can explore areas of the country whilst getting paid for it, with free travel and accommodation included.
  • Receive a higher hourly rate than if you were a permanent employee
  • Set a work/life balance that works for you
