About the role:
This role is with a medium sized aged care facility in Southern Sydney. This is not your run of the mill Chef role. We need your passion, enthusiasm and sense of humour to be the core of your day to day operations. Someone who can bring life to the kitchen and joy to the residents and their families is of utmost importance.

This is a full-time position, reporting to the Hospitality Manager. The organisation believes that dining plays an integral role to the well-being and happiness of the community. A successful candidate must share this same outlook towards the job, whilst also having the ability to build caring relationships with residents. 
  
We are looking for someone from a large-scale background that could include restaurants, hotels or aged care or similar.


Overview of core responsibilities:
  • Bringing creativity and enthusiasm to the kitchen
  • Out of the box thinking with new models of service delivery
  • Meal preparation and serving
  • Manage a variety of dietary requirements and Aged Care specific needs
  • Maintain documentation records in line with strict aged care regulatory requirements
  • Ordering, receiving and checking stock
  • Ability to correctly use equipment in line with health and safety requirements
  
Key requirements:
  • Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery
  • Extensive experience in food safety and hygiene, including Food Safety Certificate
  • Experience in large-scale cooking
  • Aged Care experience is a bonus but not essential
  • Strong organisation skills and forward-thinking 
  • Creative flair to provide residents with a stimulating dining experience
